Our Mission & Philosophy
Our Mission
Our mission is to support young learners in becoming creative thinkers, thoughtful investigators, compassionate friends, and tolerant citizens of the world. We prepare our children for kindergarten – and the world beyond – by fostering all areas of childhood development, including physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
Our Philosophy
As early childhood educators, we approach our role with both gravity and levity, in equal amounts. Our mission is an important one. Therefore, we embrace the responsibility of educating young children as an opportunity to inspire and build a strong foundation for a love of learning. We understand that each child is a unique individual who deserves a secure, caring, and child-focused atmosphere in which to grow and mature physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. As a result, we are driven by the idea that young children should blossom at their own pace and learn in ways that help them to become confident in themselves as learners.
There are five key elements that we consider essential when establishing such an environment:
Creating opportunities for exploration and self-discovery.
Employing developmentally appropriate guidance practices.
Building authentic partnerships with families.
Emphasizing inclusion and diversity by stressing the importance of community.
Understanding the role of a teacher as an active learner and researcher.
A Culture of Inclusion
No child can succeed unless all children succeed. That’s why we’re dedicated to fostering a culture of tolerance and inclusion; celebrating diversity; and promoting awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of each others unique differences. To that end, we welcome any and all opportunities to incorporate family traditions into our curriculum to better enrich our community’s knowledge of the diverse, beautiful tapestry of humankind.
